Editorial and evidence methodology
How are definitions, comparisons, standards and corrections produced?

A calm method is more valuable than a loud claim of certainty.
Publication route: name the layer, record the observation, then select the source or method that answers the decision.
What the term changes
Each guide starts with a reader decision, then names the material variables, the relevant public source and the uncertainty that remains. Common definitions are explained plainly. Precise thresholds, versions and regulatory obligations are linked to a primary source or a shown calculation. Controlled ASTM, AATCC and ISO procedures are not reproduced.
What to record
Editorial observations from swatches or sample still lifes are labelled as observations. They can show what a reader may inspect, but they do not become laboratory results. Supplier claims are treated as inputs to verify. When a source changes, the notebook records the update and affected pages are reviewed.
The method is intentionally practical: a definition should lead to a buyer question, a test name should lead to the question it answers and a claim should lead to its scope.
